About the Opportunity

Jasper Constructors has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Labour Advisor to join their Mississauga team.

Reporting to the Interprovincial Labour Manager, the main aim of this role is to be responsible for the day to day administration and coordination of the recruitment, deployment, and work force planning of all field labour in Ontario.

More specifically, the successful candidate will:

  • Manage the labour force at the sites, including recruiting personnel and movement of personnel between sites.
  • Coordinate employee performance evaluations;
  • Implement corporate programs such as productivity initiatives and talent management programs;
  • Coordinate and facilitate corporate initiatives including group benefits and pension plan education seminars;
  • Administer the trade's apprenticeship program; and
  • Administer and coordinate workforce planning reports and prepare a personnel site staffing models.

We're on the look out for an experienced HR generalist with a post secondary degree in Human Resources Management, or a relevant program; with extensive experience in labour relations.  Previous exposure in a heavy industrial or construction industry is required.

The ideal applicant will possess knowledge of the construction labour relations environment in Ontario.  In addition, you will have an understanding of management in both union and open shop environments.  You will have experience in recruitment, workforce planning, and identifying training and development activities.
