About the Opportunity
A division of the Casman Group of Companies, Borealis Mechanical has an excellent opportunity for a number of qualified Journeyman Service Plumbers to join its skilled team.
This varied role you will be assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems. Plumbers work in cooperation with other trades and labourers to ensure that all specifications, legislation, and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of any project.
Some of your specific duties will include:
- Provide estimates and perform service work;
- Install, repair, and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls;
- Accurately troubleshoot and resolve issues;
- Assemble and install valves and fittings;
- Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment;
- Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials;
- Install, repair, and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systems; and
- Perform other duties as assigned of a similar nature or level.
The successful candidates will have completed an Alberta Journeyman Certificate or hold Red Seal certification in Plumbing. You will need a minimum of five year's experience in maintenance plumbing, and have a current driver's license. A good driving record is required. Experience in hydronic heating is preferred.
Most importantly, you are an honest, self-motivated 'go getter' with a strong work ethic. You will have excellent communication and customer service skills.
About the Benefits

You will be rewarded for your hard work and dedication with an attractive remuneration of $40 per hour based on a 44 hour work week, with the possibility of earning $60 per hour for Overtime! A 60 hour work week is available.
You will receive a Long Service Bonus of $1,000 per year of service. (ie. $1,000 on 1st anniversary, $5,000 on 5th anniversary)! You will receive $6.00 per hour Local Retention payment (up to 2288 hours annually) if you live in Fort McMurray. If you do not live in Fort McMurray, you would receive up to $1,000 per month in Living Out Allowance. To receive this, you need to provide proof that you maintain a residence outside of the municipality, and fill out a CRA Declaration of Exemption form.
