About the Opportunity

A division of CEDA International Corporation, CASCA Tech has an exciting opportunity for several Senior Power Systems Technicians to join their team in Edmonton and Fort McMurray.

The Power Systems Technician will provide CASCA Tech's clients with maintenance and acceptance testing on electrical equipment.

Some of your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Set up and operate specialized standard test equipment to diagnose, test, and analyze the performance of electrical systems;
  • Utilize equipment including electrical switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relaying, transformers, cables, motors, as well as motor control centres;
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Junior Power System Technicians; and
  • Complete job reports.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Completed a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Journeyman Power Systems Electrician;
  • Minimum five years experience performing maintenance and acceptance testing;
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver abstract is required, candidates will have to provide their own; or give permission to obtain.
  • To successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Prior site experience and technical training is an asset.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can handle change and have the ability to manage and be self-critical of their own work.  Additionally, you will be self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in (and mentor) a team environment. You will be able to work in confined spaces and with heights.
