About the Opportunity
Due to increased workload and expansion within their estimating department, Universal Industries is seeking both a Junior and Senior Estimator to join their growing team in Lloydminster.
The primary purpose of these roles is to analyze costs and prepare estimates on prospective mechanical construction projects.
The range of day-to-day duties involved in these positions include:
- Providing technical support and services in the planning, estimating, and measuring of work;
- Preparing accurate estimates and budgets;
- Developing cost summaries, exceptions lists, and price schedules;
- Liaising with customers and vendors;
- Coordinating with estimators and sales from other offices during process of bid; and
- Identifying critical issues that may impact costs.
Junior Estimator
- To be successful in this role, you will have graduated from an engineering technology program or have an equivalent combination of technical training and experience. If you have experience with tanks, pressure vessels, and piping it will be a valuable asset.
Senior Estimator
- You will have a Technical Diploma or Certificate in Engineering Technology, or an equivalent amount of years experience. The successful candidate will have several years oilfield related experience.
For these positions, it is essential that you have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. For both positions, Universal Industries is interested in receiving applications from enthusiastic team players, who have an exceptional mechanical and mathematical aptitude with strong attention to detail. In addition, you will also have the ability to read and understand drawings and P&IDs. Having excellent organizational skills is required. Ideally, you are proficient with Microsoft Office and are familiar with MS Projects.
