About the Opportunity
Currently, Border Glass & Aluminum is seeking a Senior Production Executive to join their team in Winnipeg.
Within this role, you will spearhead and coordinate the efforts of all production personnel throughout the entire project lifecycle from the time contracts are secured through to final billing.
This is a unique opportunity to play a significant role in implementing corporate wide initiatives throughout the organization. This will involve guaranteeing that projects finish on schedule, on budget, and according to specifications.
Overseeing the efforts of all production personnel, and working closely with key stakeholders and managers within the company, you will play a pivotal role in:
- Overseeing all project management;
- Creating and implementing a standardized production process policy;
- Developing and improving the existing job costing process;
- Providing monthly reporting on all general project progress;
- Defining and delegating the responsibilities of key employees involved in the production process;
- Overseeing the creation and implementation of relevant documentation that will serve as a guide for the entire production process;
- Developing and implementing a quality control program for plant operations and site installations;
- Developing a training/mentorship/apprenticeship program to include Project Managers;
- Creating/implementing a formal process for contract changes; and
- Overseeing the fabrication plant to ensure modern, efficient and safe processes are maintained, and innovations are implemented.
Border Glass is a forward looking company, with plans for careful and strategic growth and improving current systems. You will be expected to initiate, design and implement tentative plans for new systems and products that will improve our overall diversity and security.
Preferably, you will have an engineering background with proven experience in a related field. You are well versed in performing market research and you have a thorough understanding of conventional stick-built curtain wall systems, panelized systems, and equipment acquisition.
Travelling into the United States up to 4 times per year will be essential and therefore a valid passport is a must.
This role would be the perfect match if you have a strong background in and experience with design and engineering of curtainwall systems.
Specifically, you will have an ability to review windload, deadload, anchoring methods, thermal characteristics and other performance related specifications of the window and curtain wall systems.
Most notably, you are a deadline oriented person who thrives on communicating effectively to c-level executives and contractors as well as effectively negotiating with suppliers, installers and union representatives.
