About the Opportunity
P. Machibroda Engineering Ltd. (PMEL) is currently seeking a talented Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Edmonton, AB.This is a highly varied, all-round role that will see the successful candidate providing leadership in geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects and tasks.
As you will be working in a small office of 25 employees, you will have the opportunity to be involved in virtually all projects. This will involve overseeing the scope of work for each project and preparing proposals, as well as signing off on proposals completed by engineers in training (EIT).
The preferred candidate will also be expected to:
- work closely with clients to ensure that their needs are met;
- mentor and provide training and direction to the EIT’s in the office;
- deliver high quality reports on time and within budget;
- participate with other staff in client development as part of the management team;
- establish percentage profit targets within his personal proposals and those of the more junior engineers;
- regularly participate and contribute to the management meetings with respect to improvements in the Alberta office.
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering;
- P.Eng status and current registration or eligibility for registration with APEGGA;
- 5+ years work experience;
- Thorough knowledge of theories, principles and practices of Geotechnical Engineering;
