About the Opportunity
North Parkland Power REA is looking for a Journeyman Power Lineman operating primarily in the northern portion of our operating area that includes the region surrounding Lac La Biche.
Reporting to the Director, Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for construction, operation and maintenance of the Distribution System and Equipment (3-phase and single phase). This role may also be responsible for the supervision of a crew.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining both overhead and underground distribution system including pole climbing, trouble shooting and repair as required;
- Participating in an existing standby rotation schedule;
- Handling patrol and inspection of power lines to record, repair and report on issues; and
- Managing any new company facility as may be required in the region including manpower, vehicle(s) and onsite inventory needs.
The ideal candidate must be physically fit and will hold a valid Journeyman Power Lineman Certificate.
You will also hold an Alberta Class 1 Drivers License with an air endorsement and clean abstract or be able to obtain this by the end of the probationary period.
The successful candidate should also have Distribution System construction, operation and maintenance skills with a strong knowledge and track record of safety skills. You must be able to work both independently as well as part of an existing team of skilled professionals.

You also have excellent time management skills and the ability to be involved in all aspects of each project - from concept to completion. Importantly, you will be a hard-working team player with strong organizational and communication skills. The capacity to establish and maintain productive internal and external relationships is essential, as is a strong "can do" approach.
