About the Opportunity
Ostara Australia has a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Manager to join their dynamic team in Blackburn, Victoria.
As Finance Manager you will have responsibility for the overall financial management of the organisation, working within and overseeing a small finance team consisting of two part time finance administrators.
Working closely with the CEO and Finance Team, you will manage and oversee all financial, investment and business planning activities for Ostara.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Creating, reviewing, analysing, directing and administering all financial plans;

Leading and supporting the organisational budgeting process;

Overseeing, reporting and monitoring the organisation's financial performance, including the annual audit, and supporting and advising the CEO in relation to decision making;

Ensuring that timely, accurate and relevant financial data and future focused strategies are presented to the CEO;

Supervising and monitoring staff within the finance team, and training staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters;

Preparing the annual business plan, and participating and providing input for the preparation of a 3 year strategic plan for Ostara Australia;

Participating in developing new business, including assisting the CEO and COO in identifying new funding opportunities, the drafting of prospective programmatic budgets and determining cost effectiveness and prospective service delivery.
To succeed, you will be CPA or CAA qualified, with relevant and demonstrated skills in current accounting principles, including up to date knowledge of PAYG, BAS and GST payments. You'll have demonstrated knowledge of Not for Profit accounting, MYOB, QuickBooks and Excel, and must possess the ability to create and assess financial reports. Experience in working within budgetary requirements is pivotal to this role.
Additionally, suitable candidates will have demonstrated skills and abilities in decision making and problem solving, including the ability to identify, develop and implement solutions and strategies to improve performance and delivery of financial services. High attention to detail, computed and data analysis skills with the ability to maintain appropriate documentation and filing systems are also essential.
Ostara Australia are looking for a challenge orientated and motivated individual with high level interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Your ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including funding bodies and auditors, will be crucial to your success.
