About the Opportunity
Eagle Machine Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Machinist, specializing in Gear Cutting, to join its team in Abbotsford, BC.
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and running Gear Cutting jobs to achieve maximum productivity and meet customer delivery dates;
- Creating and updating setup sheets for all jobs as needed;
- Carefully and precisely deburring gears, to ensure there are no marks across any gear faces;
- Meeting with the Shop Office each morning to discuss the status of all open and new work orders;
- Recording setup details for clients, and noting gear cutting time and interaction time for each job; and
- Maintaining gear shop equipment.
In order to apply, we ask that you are a Machinist with at least 2 years of relevant experience. You must be comfortable calculating gear ratios, selecting appropriate cutters, setting up and producing accurate parts without supervision, and designing necessary fixtures as required.
In this role, You must also be comfortable cutting spur and helical gears as well as involute and parallel side splines with Fellows Type 6 & Type 36 Shapers, a Pfauter Hob and Baber-Coleman Hobs.
Proficient in the use of all required measuring tools, you will have the flexibility to work overtime as required and the interpersonal skills to work with an apprentice.
Regular Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. plus overtime as required.
