About the Opportunity
OFG has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Analyst to join our IT Business Relationships Department team in Langley, BC.
In this full-time position, your main responsibility will be to work closely with business partners to analyze transportation, logistics and warehouse requirements. You will also work with Solution Architects and Systems Analysts to translate business requirements into strong system solutions. This role will also require you to collaborate with technical staff to deliver strong detailed system design and will provide strong leadership, coaching and technical direction to teams of programmers.
On a regular basis, you will
- Partner with our business team to deliver innovative and timely TMS/WMS solutions and effectively communicate ideas to business partners;
- Develop and support the Red Prairie Transportation Management System;
- Assist in the set-up of system configuration parameters and rating services;
- Troubleshoot technical and functional issues and work with JDA for resolution of core product issues when required;
- Undertake systems analysis and design activities to deliver technical solutions to business opportunities;
- Performs various roles on projects such as: project manager, project leader, leading and planning integration and system test cycles, acting as a tester or as a User Acceptance Test Coordinator;
- Provides mentoring and technical coaching to other team members;
- Prepares work package plans and/or project plans;
- Coordinates deployments across multiple IT groups when needed;
- Develops business relationships to maintain awareness of business requirements, benefits, and risks, and then translate these into recommended plans and solutions;
- Participates in business process modeling and gains stakeholder alignment; and
- Manages vendor software delivery when needed.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in transportation and logistics systems, with a background in warehouse management systems or supply chain management. Please note that 2 years of software development experience is essential. Qualified candidates will most likely have a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or related discipline; however, this is not required for you to be considered for this role. It will be an asset if you have java development skills or web technology development skills.
Drawing upon your experience, you must be skilled in the set-up of TMS system configuration parameters and rating services, and have a full understanding of Transportation Management including inbound and outbound planning. You will also need in-depth experience in project management. The successful candidate will have technical skills including experience in software development with n-tier applications and relational databases.
Someone who can improve on how to implement new software, and enjoys staying current on technological direction and industry trends would do well. Also, if you have extensive experience from the grocery business, you would be a good fit for the role.
Along with a proven ability to make critical decisions under pressure, you will need to deliver world-class business solutions on time and on budget.
Understandably, you will need to show a proven ability to negotiate and manage systems development scope and timelines. We want to speak with you if you have extensive knowledge of architectural best practices and artifacts, extensive knowledge of IT governance best practices and artifacts, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
