A New Opportunity Awaits
Golden Life has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Director to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. Please note there is also a possibility to be based in Cranbrook, but regular travel to Alberta would be required.
Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Business, you will drive all sales functions while developing sales programs to increase revenue and profits and achieve optimal occupancy performances within your portfolio of GLM villages.
You will also provide hands-on sales support to a defined portfolio of communities and conduct regular Village visits to ensure the delivery of consistent performance, adherence to company processes and standards, and compliance with policies and procedures.
Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Achieving sales goals, building strategic business relationships, formulating innovative business development strategies, and providing vision for all sales strategies
- Providing ongoing coaching, training, and guidance to staff regarding the implementation of GLM sales process
- Communicating brand identity to pertinent business units, key business partners, and the customer base
- Conducting regular analysis of pricing effectiveness and recurring trends
- Providing guidance and direction to the sales team for the development and execution of sales plans that will deliver profit
- Completing a thorough competitive analysis and using this information, along with your knowledge of market trends, and regional business environments to contribute to the department’s strategic planning processes
- Directing the production of a market-specific positioning plan, based on competitive analysis and feasibility studies
- Collaborating with the sales and operations teams to develop strategic plans and annual business plans
- Participating in communication initiatives to internal and external clients and ensuring consistent messaging
- Recruiting, training, and developing staff, providing guidance and direction, and evaluating performance
About You
This role is well suited to a passionate and determined individual who wishes to disrupt the industry with new ideas and innovations.
Our ideal candidate will have a Degree or Diploma in a related field such as Marketing or Hospitality combined with a minimum of 5 years of sales and marketing experience. An equivalent of education and experience will be considered.
Candidates with relevant industry experience and/or knowledge and experience with a social model of care are strongly encouraged to apply.
As an experienced leader, you must have strong organizational and prioritization skills. Similarly, strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach are essential.
This role is well suited to a self-motived, innovative professional who has the ability to "think outside of the box" and continually improve processes. Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships will be the key to your success in this role.
Please note that due to the nature of this role, a physician’s waiver, TB screen, immunization record and acceptable criminal record check is also required.
