About Pacifica Treatment Centre

At Pacifica Treatment Centre our mission is to promote health and recovery from addiction through treatment, education, and support that strengthens individuals, families, and communities. How we do this is by offering a comprehensive treatment program in order to meet the unique needs of individuals and the expanding needs of the system of care while still remaining one of the most affordable residential programs in BC. We can accommodate and support up to 35 clients at a time who usually stay with us from 4 to 12 weeks.

A New Opportunity Awaits 

Pacifica Treatment Centre is currently looking for an enthusiastic Program Manager to join our team based in Vancouver, BC. 

In this role as the Program Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for providing support across a range of streams on an integrated services team in a residential setting. There are huge opportunities to make this highly strategic role your own as you provide leadership, review and develop programs, and work with our management team to ensure Pacifica Treatment Centre's continued success for our clients. You will also be responsible for directly managing our Counsellors and Client Care Workers.

While no two days will ever be alike in this exciting role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the integrated team to develop and implement a client-focused program by using various group processes and theories.  
  • Supervising the processing of medical records including client assessments, charting, and progress notes while using established policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring the safe care of prescribed medications and their distribution at the appropriate times.
  • Ensuring the risk management program is implemented and monitored for effectiveness. 
  • Identifying areas that require improved efficiency and effectiveness in services delivery in order to enhance client care services, build the capability of the integrated services team, and to improve the team's responsiveness to client needs.
  • Providing leadership of people in order to develop an environment that is supportive of engagement, innovation, and individual and team achievements. 
  • Providing regular, ongoing, clear, and significant feedback in order to provide recognition and to address potential areas where performance could be improved. 
  • Training all new staff in program procedures and educating existing staff on any developments in the field of chemical dependency with particular reference to treatment. 
  • Leading and participating in staff selection and contractor selection for program deliverables. 
  • Working with all other managers to maintain positive union relationships.
  • Ensuring the operation of programs is in keeping with approved operational budgets. 
  • Providing leadership on departmental and capital budgets including staffing, equipment, and other resources in order to meet Pacifica's objectives and financial goals. 
  • Identifying and highlighting opportunities for partnership and fundraising. 
  • Participating in the operationalizing and implementation of the organization's current strategic priorities in collaboration with the CEO and management team. 
  • Working with the CEO in order to monitor and evaluate the relevance of Pacifica's strategic priorities to their partners and stakeholders. 

In order to qualify for this role, you will have at least 2 years of relevant experience working with concurrent disordered clients along with 5 years of experience in a supervisory role and a Master's Degree in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work. Eligibility for registration with a relevant professional association is also required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

As our ideal candidate for this role, you will have a track record for success when it comes to working collaboratively with a team to review, develop, and deploy programs in a residential treatment centre environment. Your strong mix of communication skills and clinical knowledge combined with your ability to lead will ensure your success in this role as you enthusiastically drive all aspects of our clinical program. 

Above all, you will have excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills allowing you to comfortably pivot between working collaboratively and making decisions yourself as required.
