About the Opportunity
Currently, Proceed Solutions is hiring a talented Spatial Systems Developer - GIS based in Calgary, AB who can support and continue the development of an existing suite of software applications which serve as the backbone of our business.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to:
- Work with the software development team to develop Proceeds spatial data management systems and toolsets;
- Develop and deploy project specific spatial software solutions;
- Provide research and design support to senior application developers;
- Manage, develop and deploy applications for specific software and project solutions;
- Provide data mining and organization services;
- Implement spatial models and service platforms;
- Provide coding and data management services; and
- Create and manage GIS based data sets, data-stores and processes to manage spatial data.
To apply for the role, you will need a relevant Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience in .NET Development, and the following qualifications or experience:
- Expertise in ASP.NET, JavaScript;
- Demonstrated training or experience in web based GIS systems design, testing, and deployment;
- Development experience in spatial data systems (e.g. PostgreSQL/GIS, MapGuide, Esri, FME, Oracle, SQL);
- Development experience in an Esri based GIS server environment;
- Web based systems development - HTML5, Java, etc.;
- CMS systems development and management experience;
- Experience with enterprise RDBM;
- Demonstrated experience with development of mobile applications;
- Development experience in document management systems such as Django or SharePoint; and
- General understanding of project management principles (Agile, Iterative, Waterfall).
The successful applicant will have a strong background in information technology, along with demonstrated experience in GIS/mapping application design, development, and implementation. Work experience in designing geospatial data stores along with development experience in web based visualization tools and data management interfaces will be considered an asset.
You will do well in the role if you have web-development experience paired with knowledge of information architecture design. Experience in software programming is crucial.
