About the Opportunity
Little Saskatchewan First Nation Health Authority is currently hiring a full time Registered Nurse to fulfill the role of Public Health & Home Care Nurse in Gypsumville, Manitoba.
Under the direction of the Third Party Managers for Little Saskatchewan Health Authority, you will be responsible for providing nursing services to the clients of Little Saskatchewan First Nation.
With a caring and supportive approach to healthcare, you will:
- Work collectively with the health team of Little Saskatchewan First Nation in the delivery of Public Health Services and Home Care Services;
- Plan, implement, deliver and evaluate Public Health and Home Care in the region;
- Provide nursing services in a wide variety of settings (clinic, school, community, etc); and
- Perform physical assessments of patients of all age groups and undertake a wide variety of procedures/techniques (vision/hearing screening, immunization, STI management, etc.).
To qualify for this dynamic role, you will be a Registered Nurse or have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized educational institution.
It is essential that you are registered (or able to register) with the Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
Our ideal candidate will also possess the following:
- CPR and First Aid certificate;
- Immunization certificate;
- Knowledge of the Federal/Provincial Health Care Systems,
- A Valid Manitoba Driver’s License, and
- The ability to provide Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
Sound knowledge of First Nations cultural practices, traditions and customs is highly advantageous. You will also have knowledge of, and experience with, health promotion, disease prevention, health education, group process and community development.
You will be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and must be proficient at using computers, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access Database.

About the Benefits
In exchange for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with a competitive wage of $31.95-$37.67 per hour (based on 38.75 hours per week), plus additional pay for academic allowances.
